Rain coming down,
I sit on the drenched concrete
and abandon my umbrella,
too tired to hold it up,
between two walls,
my head resting on the physical,
looking towards heaven,
what else matters now?
In this moment I am defeated,
spirit hidden in the void;
could this be the end?
The shower caresses my face,
and my emotions surface for a brief moment,
so I’ll tell you now that I’m grateful.
Sleep is summoning me gently,
and after a while I will acquiesce,
but not before I’ve thought of you,
not before I’ve thought of you.
